Specialist Director Criteria

This volunteer role will appeal to people who are passionate about contributing to the growth of our expanding Aboriginal Health Service. We are seeking two applicants who have the expertise working in a current or previous role that can provide a combination of experience in the following areas:

  • Previous or current mainstream board experience Desirable
  • Completion of formal Governance qualifications ie AICD or willingness to undertake. Essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of Closing the Gap Initiative - Essential
  • Exercise good governance of the organisation and guide the strategic direction Essential
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing effective strategic partnerships Essential
  • Finance and risk management experience Essential
  • Possess a good understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector Essential
  • Human resources experience with relation to contracts between NFP and government funded agencies, legal agreements, fair and unfair dismissals Desirable
  • Experience assessing and sourcing funding for not-for-profits Desirable
  • The ability to understand the needs of diverse communities Essential
  • Help to grow our network of stakeholders and supporters, Essential
  • Reside in the Dubbo Regional Council Shire and are an active community member Essential
  • Experience in the legal environment working for or with a not-for-profit organization Desirable
  • Experience in the Primary Health Care environment Desirable
