Minimum Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Aboriginality
  • Qualification as Aboriginal Health Worker, eligible for AHPRA registration or Willingness to obtain
  • Experience in clinical or community base health care
  • Excellence in team work
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families and service partners
  • Experience in clinical and case management of clients
  • Demonstrated time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact on Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities
  • Working with Children and Criminal Record check clearances and a current NSW Drivers Licence

About The Position

Key Duties

  • Maintain positive partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Engage Aboriginal Families and Children in their healthcare journey
  • Perform health and developmental screening and referrals
  • Written communication in files, letters and report writing
  • Contribute to data collection for the Connected Beginnings Project
  •  Facilitate culturally appropriate healthcare for Aboriginal children living within Doonside and Mount Druitt regions
  •  Participate in service planning with services and agencies as directed by supervisor
  •  Participate in case conferences and family planning meetings
  •  Actively participate in staff appraisal and staff supervision processors
  •  Participate in quality and accreditation activities as per the direction of the supervisor
