Deadly Blues

Deadly blues are coming to town

Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) will combine with Deadly Choices, Urban Indigenous Health and New South Wales Rugby League to encourage the Aboriginal Community to obtain a 715 Health Check annually.

The promotion aims to target chronic disease, nutrition, physical activity and smoking which can have a negative impact on Indigenous communities.

The promotion will see Indigenous people receive a free NSWRL inspired shirt when they attend the WACHS Clinic in Maxwell Street to get a Health Check.

The WACHS Maxwell Street Clinic will host a BBQ lunch for the school students and community then conduct activities at Wellington Primary School.

Mr Darren Ah See said, “The activities will see our Quit B Fit and New South Wales Rugby League staff combine to run activations on Tobacco Education, Physical activity, nutrition and Leadership with the Primary school kids in year’s 3, 4, 5 and 6.”

“This is a great opportunity for the local community to get behind the campaign and encourage their family members to do the same.”
